Our  Story

Hello, I am Caroline Marazzi founder of  The Little Artisan Bakery.

Starting a sourdough bakery has been a dream of mine since attending a sourdough baking workshop in Devon back in 2019 with my partner David.

In 2021 with the support of my friends and family I took the plunge, I secured a business loan and started the process of converting part of my home in Great Dunmow into a micro bakery. I  advertised  on social media and was surprised at how quickly my business took off, there was and still is a real appetite for naturally leavened bread that contains only 3 ingredients flour, water and salt. I soon got wholesale orders from local restaurants, cafes,  farm shops and village shops. In February 2022 David came on board to help steer the company forward . In July 2022 we outgrew our little micro bakery and moved into our new premises on Sparlings farm in Felsted.
